Large industrial parks generally benefit from the legal status of an \u201cindustrial park\u201d regulated under Romanian legislation, a status that provides a number of advantages, particularly tax benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Romania, there are more than 100 properties owned either by the state or by private companies that have obtained industrial park status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Industrial park status<\/strong> is the administrative act issued by the specialized body of the central public administration that grants an industrial platform, an existing industrial platform or land designated for an industrial park the legal status of an industrial park under Law No. 186\/2013 on the establishment and operation of industrial parks<\/em>, as subsequently amended and supplemented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Industrial park status<\/strong> grants the park administrator and its residents the right to the following support measures (which constitute state aid\/de minimis aid and are granted in compliance with EU state aid regulations):<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. exemption from the payment of fees charged for changing the designation or removing the land related to the industrial park from the agricultural circuit;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. exemption from land tax, corresponding to the land belonging to the industrial park;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. exemption from building tax, corresponding to the buildings that are part of the industrial park infrastructure;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. exemptions, subject to the approval of the local public administration authorities, from the payment of any fees owed to the local budgets of the administrative-territorial units for the issuance of urban planning certificates, building permits and\/or demolition permits for the land and buildings forming part of the park’s infrastructure and constituting an integral part of the industrial park;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. other facilities that may be granted, according to the law, by local public administration authorities.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    A resident<\/strong> of the park may be any economic operator, Romanian and\/or foreign legal entity, NGOs, research institutions and other entities without legal personality, operating in accordance with the law and carrying out economic, scientific research, scientific research valorization and\/or technological development, agro-industrial, logistics and innovative, industrial and other activities within the industrial park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    How much does it cost to rent an industrial facility, depending on the location?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The cost of renting an industrial facility<\/strong><\/a> varies from one industrial park to another and from one location to another, as well as depending on the specifications and classification of the spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The highest asking prime rent among industrial parks is recorded in Bucharest, where the maximum level can reach \u20ac4.70\/sq. m\/month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In the other major industrial hubs, rents range between \u20ac4.25\/sq. m\/month and \u20ac4.65\/sq. m\/month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Various discounts may be applied to these reference levels, depending on the individual lease agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
