During the last 16 years, the retail department was one of the main pillars of Cushman & Wakefield in Romania and one of the major contributors to the shopping centers industry, having a multi-level contribution to the successful development of several retail schemes in Bucharest and countrywide.

Cushman & Wakefield Echinox provides consultancy from the early stages of pre-development process, from choosing the right concept to sketching the best tenant mix and estimating the budget and the rental level. In the second phase, services are focused on pre-rental and rental of retail spaces within the project, while property management and capital markets teams provide the best solutions for an efficient results-driven management and/or exit scenarios.

Recent track record includes the successful leasing of Mega Mall Bucharest, the largest shopping center delivered in Romania during the last six years, where Cushman & Wakefield Echinox secured key anchors like Carrefour, Peek & Cloppenburg, Marks & Spencer or Mango to reach a 97% occupancy rate at the grand opening from May 2015.

In 2016, C&W Echinox’s retail department brokered rental transactions of 20,000 sq. m in Bucharest and around Romania, collaborating with the most active fashion retailers in the local market.
