Cushman & Wakefield Echinox provided strategic consultancy for the Mall Moldova project developed by Prime Kapital, the largest shopping center in the Moldova region and the only super-regional mall outside Bucharest

Bucharest, April 2025: The retail team of Cushman & Wakefield Echinox provided strategic consultancy for Prime Kapital, the developer of the Mall Moldova Iasi super-regional shopping center, being involved in securing renowned brands such as Inditex, Peek & Cloppenburg, IKEA or Leroy Merlin among others. The official opening is on April 17, 2025.

The close collaboration between Prime Kapital, the project developer, and the experts at Cushman & Wakefield Echinox ensured a diverse selection of tenants and reputed brands which will contribute to the attractiveness and success of Mall Moldova.

Bogdan Marcu, Partner Capital Markets Cushman & Wakefield Echinox: “We are proud of our contribution to the expansion of Mall Moldova and of the partnership we have built over time with Prime Kapital, as well as with top retailers present in Romania. Our involvement in this project reflects our commitment to supporting developers and investors in the retail sector, as well as the trust they have in the Cushman & Wakefield Echinox team.”

Mall Moldova, with a total retail destination of approximately 125,000 sq. m, will be the largest mall in the Moldova region and the only super-regional shopping center outside Bucharest. The project includes over 250 stores, the largest cinema in the eastern part of the country and an entertainment area of over 10,000 sq. m.

Dana Radoveneanu, Head of Retail Agency Cushman & Wakefield Echinox: “The retail market in Romania is going through a favorable period, witnessing major projects which have redefined the commercial landscape in the country over the past five years. Retail projects totaling 735,000 sq. m were completed across the country between 2020 and 2024, out of which around 25% were developed by Prime Kapital. Moreover, the current investment plans of major players foresee the construction of more than 600,000 sq. m of retail spaces by 2028/2029, with the targeted cities including Cluj – Napoca, Bacau, Galati, Arad and Bucharest.”

Mall Moldova is the largest retail project to be delivered this year and, upon completion, Iasi will become the second largest regional city in terms of modern retail stock, with 231,000 sq. m, after Timisoara (264,700 sq. m).
