EMEA Sustainable Returns Report
Bucharest, 2026: The Cushman & Wakefield Echinox real estate consultancy company advised Equans, an international group within Bouygues Group, on the lease of 1,600 sq m of office space in One Cotroceni Park, one of Bucharest’s most important mixed-use developments.
The transaction marks Equans’ official entry into the Romanian market, alongside the launch of an IT hub in Bucharest, which will operate as a center of expertise supporting the group’s international operations.
The new center will deliver advanced IT services for Equans entities in several countries, further strengthening Bucharest’s position as a compelling destination for high value-added investments in technology and global support services.
Choosing One Cotroceni Park reflects the growing interest of international companies newly entering the local market in modern, well-connected office buildings that provide strong sustainability credentials and amenities for employees.
Equans is a world leader in the energy and services sector, with annual revenues of nearly €18,7 billion and almost 800,000 projects. Equans has leading positions in Europe, which is the result of the history of energy construction in these countries, and strong presences in North and South America and in Oceania.
With nearly 85,000 highly skilled employees, Equans has a strong geographic footprint, anchored by historic local brands. Equans provides its customers with excellent technical expertise in the design, installation, maintenance and operation of multi-service facilities.
Bogdan Bogatu, Director Office Agency, Cushman & Wakefield Echinox: “This transaction confirms Bucharest’s appeal for international companies that are expanding their footprint or establishing operations in Romania for the first time. Equans’ entry into the local market through a landmark project such as One Cotroceni Park highlights the Capital’s role as a regional hub for IT functions and high value-added services.”
In the context of an office market adapting to tenants’ evolving requirements, Equans’ transaction is notable both for the size of the leased area and for the tenant profile – a global player present in approximately 20 countries with over 83,000 employees worldwide.
The transaction also reconfirms international companies’ interest in Class A office space that can support long-term growth strategies, talent attraction and the integration of advanced technologies.
