For Jumbo Center, the new store brings not only a new brand to the tenant mix but also broadens the retail offering with categories such as beauty, personal care and home products.”
Moreover, PENNY will open a new 1,377 sq. m store, strengthening the shopping center’s grocery and convenience retail component. The transaction was coordinated by Dana Radoveneanu, Head of Retail Agency, Cushman & Wakefield Echinox.
Dana Radoveneanu, Head of Retail Agency, Cushman & Wakefield Echinox: “BIPA and PENNY introduce two complementary retail categories to Jumbo Center and further demonstrate the project’s ability to attract strong brands. From a leasing strategy perspective, our objective is to build a tenant mix that addresses a broad spectrum of consumer needs while generating consistent footfall. These two new stores are therefore a natural addition to Jumbo Center’s offering and another step forward in consolidating the scheme as a leading retail destination in south-west Bucharest.”
Cushman & Wakefield Echinox acts as the exclusive leasing agent for Jumbo Center, with a mandate focused on attracting a complementary tenant mix capable of supporting the project’s long-term development and strengthening its position as a relevant retail destination in the south-west part of the capital city.
Tal Roma, General Manager, Jumbo Center: “Over the past three months, we have signed lease agreements with new tenants that will collectively occupy approximately 9,000 sq. m, as part of our ongoing transformation of the shopping center. PENNY and BIPA are highly important anchors for our scheme, which will be fully transformed by the end of the year, benefiting from increased visitor traffic and the opening of new stores. Together with the Mega Jumbo store, they will help re-establish Jumbo Center (formerly Liberty Mall) as the number one retail destination in the area.”
