TOWER CENTER INTERNATIONAL

01The challenge
Globalworth Tower Center International (TCI) is one of the most iconic buildings in Bucharest and the fourth-tallest office project, designed in 2006 and operational since 2009, fully leased, gathering more than 2000 occupants. Globalworth a leading real estate company in the CEE region, committed to high sustainability goals for its portfolio chose Cushman & Wakefield Echinox, a leading real estate company on the local market, dedicated to deliver sustainable solutions to its partners, to enable them to achieve a balance between environmental, technological, economic and social objectives.

02The solution
Considering the fact that the client was implementing an extensive retrofitting of the building, we tailored the certification strategy to include a blend of the existing characteristics which already ensured high sustainability score (e.g. location, transportation and site categories) and other aspects that needed upgrade (e.g. building services), so that the asset corresponds to the latest certification standard demands.

03The results
Globalworth Tower Center International, which is operational for more than 15 years, achieved the LEED O+M (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Operations+Management) certification with the GOLD rating, demonstrating that with proper maintenance and retrofitting the sustainability quality of a building with a long operational history can be maintained and improved. LEED is the most widely used green building rating system, that provides the framework for creating healthy, highly efficient and cost-effective green buildings. Globalworth Tower Center International provides efficient, comfortable and sustainable office spaces that save energy, water and resources, generate less waste and support occupant well-being. This reduces operational costs, increases productivity and contributes to employee retention. We are very pleased with the outcome of the certification project and the client’s satisfaction.
