01The Challenge
Golden Goose, one of the world’s most sought-after luxury fashion brands, was preparing its direct entry into the Romanian market and required a flagship location that would reflect its premium positioning. The brand’s objective was to secure a high-profile street retail unit in Bucharest’s most prestigious luxury corridor, alongside internationally renowned high-end brands. The challenge for our team was to identify a suitable opportunity in a market characterized by extremely limited availability, where the most attractive locations were already occupied and few spaces were publicly marketed.
02The Solution
The Retail team conducted an extensive research of the entire Calea Victoriei luxury retail district, assessing both available and off-market opportunities. One particular property stood out due to its strategic positioning; however, it was not officially available for lease. By leveraging its market relationships and negotiation expertise, our experts successfully engaged the landlord and secured access to the opportunity, ultimately convincing ownership to bring the asset to the market. In parallel, we supported the client throughout its market entry process, providing strategic advisory services and leading the lease negotiations through to completion.
03The Results
Golden Goose successfully entered the Romanian market with a flagship store in Bucharest’s most prestigious luxury retail destination, reinforcing Calea Victoriei’s position as the country’s prime high-street luxury corridor. The transaction marked the arrival of one of the most influential contemporary luxury brands in Europe and represented a significant milestone for the local retail market, as the brand represented became only the second global luxury fashion house, after Louis Vuitton, to establish a directly operated store in Romania rather than entering through a franchise partner. The project further strengthened Bucharest’s attractiveness as a destination for international luxury retailers and enhanced the quality of the city’s premium retail offering.
